My life now consists of sharing a household with 5 other interns, all rotating through different shifts and sessions at Wolf Park. Some are going to school for zoology, others are interested in wildlife rehab, and some have special talents like playing Rugby. There are e girls and 2 guys sharing the space with me. The house is always filled with laughter, which is a great thing. I baked my new housemates some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies the other night I was winding down from my day of chores and training. We’re located on site which makes work so much easier. Our town is called Battle Ground and it’s very small. We are on the outskirts of a city called Layfayette, which you might recognize from Purdue University. They have a top vet program if anyone is looking.
Recently some housemates and I ventured to downtown Layfayette to gander at the local shops and try some ice cream. I may be missing my local shop back home (shout out to MELT!). Downtown Layfayette did have the cutest candy store too.
The weather is warm of course for the summer but after dealing with Texas heat, it’s pleasant to me. Lol Thankful my days start around 8:30am and end around 5:30pm or 6pm depending on the task.
That’s all for today. Have to get back to it!
Welcome to Indiana!
